i need some meds and warm showers
tomorrow is my last day to practice before my driving test on friday at 10am. I'm nervous, not because i doubt my ability to get from place to place, but there are so many random factors. I hate that there is chance involved, though i know real life involves chance, but i still feel... *shakes fists* i'm so nervous and stressed that i got hardcore sick and right now i can barely talk. i'm gonna have to either time things out well with meds or i'll be testing while foggy-headed. luckly i've had 2 or 3 days of foggy-headed practicing. i know i can't prepare for everything and that just relaxing is probably the best thing to do, but if you have any comments or suggestions i'd appriciate it. the main motivation in this is making arthur proud and i need to remember that even if i fail he'll be proud i tried. EDIT: I passed! |

i wish i had something less sad-face to post about
my family is/has taken our oldest cat Quasey to the vet to be put to sleep. he dropped from 10ish pounds to 4ish pounds, had active hyperthyroid and crohn's disease and was 16 years old. he was a good kitty and as sad as it is i'm glad he's gotten relief. |

i have discovered the single coolest hair on my head
directly in the center of my hairline i have a hair that the half closest to the tip is my standard dark brown and the half closest to the root is either gray or uber-blond. i'm inclined to think it is gray, though it is where my hair was blond for a long time. in either case it is spiffy looking. |

Why I am Voting for Barack Obama Tomorrow
Tomorrow is the California Presidential Primary and I am going to vote for Barack Obama. I consider myself a fairly liberal person and will therefore be automatically be voting for a Democrat. What this post is about though is what, to me, is valuable enough to set Obama before Clinton. I could talk at length about the subtle policy differences that have helped me make up my mind, but in all fairness that is not the biggest motivation. The issues of race and gender seem incredibly trivial to me. Don't get me wrong, I think it would be great to have a non-white and/or female president; but having that be the core reason for support is thoughtless. I will end the post here, even though I could go on for hours. Sorry if I've offended some of you who are/were considering Hillary, but I felt I needed to explain my actions. I don't want to start a huge fight in comments, but I'm leaving them open in case anyone wants to chat or ask questions. |

Doing my Duty
So today I had lunch with Megan, the girl I mentor who has crohn's/colitis. She's formed a team for the yearly Crohn's and Colitis Take Steps Walk-a-thon to raise money and awareness. The walk is a 3k somewhere nearby in early May. I have been recruited to her team and so it is my duty to use this forum to ask for support. I realize that quite a few of you do not have money to spare, but if you want to do something you can: a) ask someone with money to look at my personal fundraising website or b) join the team and take part in the walk with me. If you want to donate some money please go to my personal fundrasing website where you can use a credit card or if you give me cash I can donate it using my bank account. Even if you only give 5$ it'd be fantastic. All donations are tax deductible. If you don't feel like doing the above things it is fine too. I'm not trying to guilt anyone into this, just trying to fulfill my duty to the team. The team's website is http://www.active.com/donate/takestepsSV07/MNardinand my fundraising website is http://www.active.com/donate/takestepsSV07/lucinda |

I'm so happy right now its a little silly. Today is my 20th birthday and the 2 year dating anniversary for arthur and me. I went out to lunch with juli and anita. after food juli bought me a spiffy hat and i bought a birthday present for megan. When we got home I found out that the christmas present I got for my dad was here and is beautiful. When my dad was a little boy in spain in the 50's he had a stamp collection, I found a collection of 88 stamps from 1950's spain on ebay for 8$. also, arthur and i are going out to genji tonight for a romantic dinner. i'm gleeful. check out my awesome hat... http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d105/Lucidflux/hat.jpg the thing on the side is a big silky flower |

tea+pills+sleep=victory!
i'd forgotten what having pneumonia was like and now i can see why in my mind it is deeply connected to mono. today i slept so much it was amazing. after dinner i realized i had only been awake for 3.5 hours and was completely beat. my lungs ache a bit, i cough and have to blow my nose often, but that all is really nothing compared to my utter lack of energy. it was waring to carry two jamba juices 40ft. part of me is enjoying the forced bed-rest, but i can see this getting old fast. i've been mildly fighting this for almost 5 months now and then suddenly the pneumonia launched a massive attack thursday/friday. i'm fighting back with meds, but i can't help feeling like i'm in a cartoonish slap fight where both sides end up growing tired and falling asleep on each other. tomorrow i foresee much sleep. |
